Hi, I am new to this forum, I have had pulsative tinnitus for about a year now. It all started with a sinus infection, and initially was so loud I couldnt sleep, it consumed me during the day, and I couldnt concentrate on anything except the pulsing.
I saw several doctors who all thought it would subside when the sinus infection went. It did reduce as the sinus got better, but it has never gone away, its worse first thing in the morning, and in the evening while watching tele. I saw a neurologist in May as I suffered a smal tia, he gave me an mri and looked for neromas which all came back clear.
For several months it was at a level where I could ignore it, but now it seems to be increasing, and I feel it is starting to interfere with my life.
Its also scary, and the more i worry the worse it seems to get, I have been stressed of late, and that also makes it worse.
I just wondered if anyone had any ideas how to resolve this, or at least get it to a managable level.
If I put my head to one side it reduces, and if I move my jaw outward it gets louder, even when walking sometimes it seems to pulse to the steps. I do think my sinus problem is still slightly there as every morning I am blocked up, and after showering seem to get a post nasal drip, some mornings also when I blow my nose I get a trace of blood, this usually happens when my sinuses are bad, then stops, but although I dont feel too congested at the moment , I seem to be getting alot of the symptoms, and the the tinnutus is worse.
Sorry for long post, any ideas would be good, as after seeing several gps, and a neurologist, I still havent got this sorted out.
