Hi, has anyone had surgical punctal occlusion done to manage extreme dry eye? My opthalmologist highly recommends it for my left eye which hs extreme dryness-caused problems. I am always reluctant to exchange a symptom have learnt to manage and live with, with an unknown symptom that may end up harder to accomodate. If you have had it done, please share the results to help me decide. Thanks,
PS I also doubt very much I could manage to sit still enough/keep my eye still enough to be a ha;way decent patient!
They put a block to my tear ducks every six months, I like it , it's better for me...
I am not sure if this is what you ask ?
I throughly recommend having plugs inserted in your tear ducts, mine has been so much better since I had them done!
No, not punctal plugs, this is surgically cuting the tear ducts - its the next stage after failed plugs.
Oh ok, I don't know that one , sorry.
I guess you will let me know how you do with it :-)
