I broke my Tibia, Fibula& ankle on Friday 22nd May 2020. The following week on Wednesday 28th of May I had Orif surgery. I had to have 3 plates and 22 screws in my leg/ankle. I have two large 8 inch incisions on my leg. I am a little concerned as its been 5 weeks today since my surgery and as soon as I stand (with crutches) my whole foot and ankle turns a real dark and angry purple. I keep it elevated all day and night. should i be worried or is this considered the norm?

Katie, I don’t know much about broken ankles - experiencing this for the first time. I think you should call the doctor.

Give your doc /surgeon a call. I’ve seen swelling and purple color but that seems excessive to me !
Call them. They can help you ease your mind.
