put pressure on broken ankle without boots/casts

it's been 4 weeks post ORIF for closed fracture lateral malleolus. i suddenly put a pressure on it! HURT a lot...but does it effect the plate and screws inside? i mean i was scared till my hand sweaty. HELP

I wouldn't recommend taking boot off if it's still hurting keep boot on, if it's hurting it means it's not healed properly I was same with mine

Yes it does affect it I bent my plate and they had to take it out because it was bending into my bone and it was hurting

Go to have it X-rayed

Definitely going to have an x-ray and don't let it go if you know something's wrong if it's hurting you're the only one that knows how it feels

hi there,

the doc did not give me a boot after i discharged. maybe because it only closed fracture and after putting plates and screws it will be okay. but yesterday just suddenly put pressure on it..pain at first but slowly it went back to normal..not pain anymore.
