Question about Lyrica

I take 75mg every eight hours or 3 times/day. I find that if I stay busy it doesn't seem to slow me down at least  to me. If I sit down or lay down after taking the med and relax then I easily nod off for a deep sleep for a couple of hours.

The question then becomes is this reaction common to other's that take this same or similiar dosage?

I am now on 150mg twice a day plus 800mg Tegretol. Yes, the Lyrica does that to me as well. As long as i have things to do its ok but if i sit down too long i am off to sleep. Pain has just gotten worse two days ago so i will have to see GP as to whether i can take any more Tegretol. Only 3 weeks to go until my surgery so i hope the answer from the GP is yes or i will have to take Codapane as well which knocks me out altogether. Thanks for your reply

I only take 100mg twice a day and yes I too seem ok when pottering about but as soon as I sit down and start reading I can feel myself nodding off. I also take paracetamol and the same thing happens.

I think with any drug that causes drowsiness can do this. I seem to be worse in the evening after taking my dose after dinner then sitting down to watch Netflix on my iPad. I can only watch a particular episode or two then I'm off to bed. I'll read a couple of pages or more in my book and then my head jolts and I know it's time to sleep. I also end up having a heavy sleep and feel really sluggish in the morning. I guess there's not a lot we can do but enjoy the activities of being mobile first.

I tool Lycria and this had the worst side effects of them all. Now I take lamotrigine.

I am on a heavier dose of Lyrica (450mg/day).  But I was diagnosed over 15 years ago and I have been through several drugs.  When I was first diagnosed I was on 250mg/day of tegretol and over the years I had to take more and more until it was recommended I stop taking it.  I have been through two MVDs.  And now we are trying to control the TN with Lyrica.
