Question on exercise

I had THR last June.  Before op. I used to do Leslie Sansone walking video's.  Do you think that it is still ok to do them?  I don't jog when she does, just walk fast.  Doctor said no jogging ever.  Does anyone else use Leslie walking video's?

Hi I have seen people run cross country marathons online after Hip replacements once they have been assimulated inot the body, take it as you find it and just do what you can, but, do try to improve, and do a little more from time to time to grow back the muscles and the indurance.....I am so looking forward to reading what the other regular posters will write....Stay with us ...Kind regards Ian.

Good question. I like what Ian says My doctor said I would be able to climb mountains, but probably not be able to stomp on my feet (aerobics, jog etc), or at least that doing so could diminish the life of my new hip. I will be looking forward to reading the answers from others!

Hi Catania,

I am not familiar with Leslie's walking video, so can't give an answer - However, I agree with Ian that you take it as you find it - you know your body best -

I will have a look - maybe ythere are some very useful tips -

Hi Catania,

Greetings from Exeter, Devon.....

I've just returned to jogging, one year post op, but as Ian says do what you can. Havn't seen these videos - my only 'no no' by the physio was bunje jumping!

So I rejoined my Zumba class last week and hard work but fun.....I missed it.

a little more exercise day by day, with rest if over-exercising , good eating, seems a way forwad, setting goals and if you reach them fine, and if not maybe next month!
