Question: See comment below.

I am 7 months post-op after having Panoptix Trifocals implanted. Overall I am satisfied with the result of surgery. I can read books and text on computer screens without glasses, though I sometimes use a 2.25 reader for small fonts or in dim lighting situations. I can read text through both eyes fairly well though when reading from a screen text sometimes appears a bit low contrast and a little washed out.

This weekend I discovered that when I view text with only my right eye, a line of text appears like the example below - still in focus. Does anyone know what would cause this?

There is a condition called cystoid macular edema which can cause distorted vision. It apparently affects the central vision and not the peripheral vision. It usually occurs sooner after cataract surgery. If you google it you can get some information on it. That is just a wild guess though…

Do other straight lines appear curvy too? I started noticing that out of my left eye just over s year ago. my optometrist diagnosed Epiretinal Membrane. I am still waiting to hear from specialist
