When I had my cataract surgery measurements done the surgeon told me that I did not have enough astigmatism in the cornea to use a toric lens. He said that if there was some residual astigmatism after the surgery, there would be an option to correct it with what I think he called a Limbal Relaxation Incision (LRI). Has anyone had this done, and what was your experience with it after? Do you consider it worth it?

I have been doing some reading about it, and it appears for minor amounts of astigmatism (mine is 0.75 D @ 80 deg.) they can just do a manual incision with a diamond blade in front of the slit lamp. The pros seem to be improved vision at distance, and the cons are that some feel they loose some reading ability at closer distances. I guess the astigmatism makes the eye act kind of like an EDOF lens. Thoughts on this?
