Hi, I'm currently taking Mebverene ibs tablets since Thursday. The pain in my lower left side has now gone, sometimes I get a pressure or discomfort, but it doesn't last as long. Especially now. It says to take 20 min. before eating. Yesterday I forgot to take one before supper, then had diahrreah so took one before going to bed. Would it be ok to stop taking it now and only take it when it comes? The doctor did say to keep taking it, but when the symptoms dissapear stop, if they come back again take it. (I was struggling to understand the Indian accent and was quite shy). Should I just carry on for a bit? Even though I don't feel anything right now?
i would probably take them for a little bit longer, just to be safe! i only tend to take them during bad flare ups then ease my self of them when i can. It wont hurt to br on the safe side and take then for an extra day or two to make sure your stomach has settled! i hope you continue to fell better.
Follow what your doctor told you. If your symptoms have stopped, discontinue Mebeverine. When your symptoms come back, resume your medication. Mebeverine, disagreed with me so I changed to Buscopan instead. I take Buscopan when I am in flare up and stop when I am in remission. You have understood your doctor properly.
