Quick question peeps sorry to bother the people who are struggling but iv bee reding up and apparently sertraline are least likely to cause weight gain which im happy about as just been switched from citalopram after 9 years where in the beginning i lost weight but then got back to a healthy weight and it all settled down, had a 2 month spell where i couldnt sleep and switched to mirtazapine where it was basically a sleeping tablet and puled almost 2 stone on me , after returnung to citalopram the water retention side affect of mirtazapine dissapeared and i was back to myself, so is there a risk of weight gain with sertraline if so im only 3 weeks in but will return to citalopram x thanks all
Hi Jermaine. There isn't really a definite answer to this unfortunately as I guess it just depends on the person. I think some people do experience weight gain but this can also be related to the depression or anxiety as comfort eating is common. With me, I completely lost my appetite for the first two weeks where every bite was a struggle to swallow and now after 5 weeks I'm back to my normal eating habits, no more than I did before. Good luck
Thank you
Hi! I had gained weight on Paxil and then switched to Setraline and lost weight. This is a tricky question because weight depends on how much activity one does and the type of food one is eating. When I ate crap I tended to look and feel like crap.
