HI IM A 17 year old boy who had been going through a lot i have been getting better with my anxiety you can say but i still have doubt. OKAY SO IT ALL STSRTED ABOUT 8 months ago when i tried marijuana and had a panic attack for like 30 minutes my heart was pounding so fast for thise 30 minutes it was scary but then a week later i was fine. I WAS A LITTLE scared to play my sport because i thought my heart would bot relax but i still played anyways and all went fine but them i started having chest pain fast heart rate from there i could play any sport because with light activity my heart will pound. so i went to the doctors they did a chest xray blood test and everything was fine. BUT i still did not feel okay so i end up going 3 to 4 more time to the er and everything was fine they said. BUT like i said i still felt bad i had chest pain dizzyness fast heart rate left arm pain by the way im 17 years old . so then about 5 months go by without asking my parents to take me to the er keep it in mine i still did not feel okay but then i decided to go back to my cardilogist to ask for a heart monitor which i did get for 48 hours. the reason i asked for it because i would have palpatations out of nowhere and it wiuld scare me so the 48 hours go by and everyhting was fine my doctor said that was like 1 month ago i feel a little better but i am still scared to work out because of my dast heart rate and recently when i walk i breath fast to the point i cant take a deep breath and hold it i because i will get light headed but dont get me wrong i speed walk so maybe that can be the reason and like i said i havent done any real excercise in like 8 months so my question is when i do physical activity my heart pounds but i get neck pain from my pulse it happens sometimes and also when i do physical activity im not tired lime i can forsure keep in running but i feel out of breath like im not tired just need more air and also everytime i run my legs stiffin up and cramp up is this normal or should i get checked out
I know how scary symptoms of anxiety can feel. I’ve had them for many years including the fast heart rate and feeling like you have to breathe harder. Like you, I got checked up at the doctors and everything was fine. Then I knew all my symptoms were from anxiety and stress.
Some of the most common symptoms of anxiety is a rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath and many others. If you’ve been checked out by your doctor, then you can be assured that your heart is fine.
I still get rapid heart rate but I continue to do my exercises including the elliptical machine, treadmill, walking fast. and I am way older than you. LOL. And yes when I’m working out sometimes I feel my heart is beating really fast or even when I’m walking. Sometimes I will slow down a little bit just to catch my breath but I know that physically there’s nothing wrong. I also had the heart monitor Because of the palpitations and flip-flop feelings. The results of which was fine.
I really think that for you the answer is anxiety management. It really helps to get some control over this. Have you ever thought about speaking with a counselor who specializes in anxiety management? Even at your school there are counselors you can talk to about this. It is very confidential so you don’t have to worry about that. The counselor could really be helpful .
anxiety symptoms can pop up at any time even when you’re not feeling anxious. That’s when I don’t give it the power. I basically ignore them as hard as it is sometimes. But the more you get anxious about it the worse they get.
so, you’ve been checked up by your doctor and everything is fine and that’s great. Now it’s time to work on how do you manage this anxiety symptoms. So I would say get some counseling, try not to take life too seriously, do things for yourself that help you relax your mind, stay hydrated and eat healthy and stay away from caffeine, marijuana, etc. and always remember your testing was fine. Sorry this is so long. Take care of yourself
