I started quinoric (hydroxychloriquine) a few weeks ago & aside from initial nausea have had no major side effects BUT this past week my skin has been dry to the point of flaking. There's no itching, my mouth & eyes aren't dry just my hands and face dry & flakey (& probably everywhere else but those are the only parts people see). I've looked online but don't see it as a side effect (other than the woman who lost all her skin) and it could well be something else. I'm just curious to know if others had dry skin on this med & if it is the cause did it eventually go away. I look like I've got a white flakey skin moustache and monobrow - it's quite disgusting & all the moisturiser in the world isn't helping.
Hello
Sorry u have this but ive got RA and since ive been ill ive had awfully dry skin. The one this ive found that helps is aveeno body lotion for extra dry skin. It has oatmeal in it. Also almond oil for eyebrows and hair at night. Its cured my issue. Also its cheap.
Take care.
Ooh thanks Donna. Almond oil is a great idea for eyebrows. They're the worst as moisturisers doesn't seem to work. Might try it in the tash area (although lets be honest women shouldn't have a tash
Lol true but hey will ra to deal with who cares. Ive found u can spend a fortune but almond oil is a pound and the aveeno is three pound for 500ml. I find it good cause rubbing it on gives me a little work out and gets my hands moving.
All the best and let me know how it goes. X
Hi since I started with RA I noticed skin and nails were dry, so started taking a skin, hair and nails supplement and find that really helped. The one I use is from Holland and Barrett
