From last year onwards I have front heel pain. Recently as per my doctor suggestions I had taken blood test for RA factor. In this I got a result as positive and the value is 68. (Normal value as 20 mentioned in the report) nowadays I am feeling more pain my right leg front heel also stiffness in the morning.my age is 25 years. Can anyone tell me is it curable.and the RA factor value of very high or moral
RA is manageable rather than curable. Some people go into remission and become symptom free, but they still need regular drug therapy to keep that way. Others still have some symptoms some times - everyone's journey is different. I'm not sure about the RA factor as I don't have that (but instead have a high anti ccp score). It it sounds like maybe a MRI , CAT scan or even a x-ray can show how much damage is in the foot. Blood test show the inflamatory proteins in the blood and does not give a clear picture of the damage to the joints.
I'm not a doc the pain u describe sounds very familiar to me. The like heel pain could also be plantar faciatis and the fatty tissue which protects the heal.
RA could be in u heal generally it is in joints as the body sends out antibodies and attacks these joints and cause pain, spurs & joint disfigurement.
Today there r many new biological drugs on the market that will stop the joint damage & the agression of RA. Nothing stops this disease but many with RA can go into remission and manage the pain without the crippling pain of past medical treatments due to new treatments and drugs.
Even DEMARDs (disease modifying arthritis) can help. Check with a rheumy they have the best experience with these diseases and the new drugs that have been approved by the FDA in recient years.
All meds ends have side effects so be sure u and UR doc talk thru what's best in UR case and medical history.
i am on a bio for Psoriatic arthritis in my fingers. Most insurance companies protocol r designed to try all meds down the chain of approval so to speak and biological meds cost thousands and r the last on the list of approval if nothing used prior to the request for bios help UR RA.

Thanks for your reply. Apart from the blood test any other test is there to confirm RA? Why am asking means in your reply seems you would done some other test.
Can't say anything about the RA factor, but no, RA is not curable as such . It is an autoimmune disease and is largely manageable, which means you might have to take drugs for it, and you can go into remission for a long time.
The RA factor doesn't always show up in blood for 20% of RA sufferers. Then it is diagnosed clinically, usually by a combination of symptoms and two markers:
One, it's a pain that starts bad and improves through the day, and two, it is bilateral, meaning similar on both sides of the body
nothing showed in my blood work over the last 10 years.. All MRI's and X-rays were done on my legs which also showed nothing, despite the pain, but when they looked at my shoulders they saw severe damage on both the Xrays and MRI.. They are valuable scans to have to look for damage although my leg ones didnt show any. Hope this helped slightly.:-)
