ran out of pills!

I have been on citalopram for 2 months now - i was prescribed it for anxiety. My problem is I have ran out of tablets due to me not undertstanding how a repeat prescription works - i thought i could just take my prescription into the pharmacy and pick up some more tablets today but i have been told they need to be ordered in and i cant get them til next tuesday which means i will have been 5 days with no medicaiton.

This is worrying me as i dont want to suffer with side effects so i wondered if anyone out there has ever done the same as me and are there many or any side effects? Hope someone can help

oh dear, you must ring your gp asap..and ask for an emergency appt. explain to receptionist need prescription urgently, they cannot refuse you this right. i did this too. maybe even speak to gp on phone,, to arrange new script to be picked up. dont let the receptionists put you off though.

thanks for your advice - i rang my doctor again and explained the situation and they said i could go and pick up the prescription straight away so i now have my medication!
