Hi Danielle,
I am really sad to hear about your story but just know that you are not alone.
I’ve been getting UTIs since I was 12 years old. Now I am almost 21.
For the past 1 year I have had UTI infection every month I have been on 7 different courses of antibiotics. I have been in hospital once for 7 days also for it.
My symptoms were the same as yours – my pain came out of nowhere and for those many years I never knew what triggered it. L
One day I was fine and the next day or couple hours later I was dying from pain in my urethra, burning pain when peeing, etc (you know how it works).
It was funny how a couple of hours later I was all fine, no pain, nothing. Next day – like nothing happened. And after one day everything came back from the beginning.
Nothing could help me, no antibiotics, no doctors, no pain killers. L
Doctors just didn’t know what caused my UTI because all looked fine – perfect urine tests, no bacteria, nothing in the blood test, no change in the structure of the bladder or urethra. Perfect working kidneys. Some even said I was making everything up… L
Now I haven’t got an UTI for a while and I think I found out finally what was causing my UTIs. J
I have always had problems with my period and I am always late, some months it doesn’t even come .. Therefore my estrogen levels change and this is causing my UTIs.
Now for the past 2 weeks I’ve been eating this superfood called Maka (google maka roots). I’ve been having 1 teaspoon in some Greek yoghurt every morning and every evening.
I haven’t had any pain in my urethra, I haven’t had burning feeling when I pee. Everything is gone now, I can’t believe it but this was what was triggering my UTIs. I can’t know if your case is the same but please check your hormonal levels next time you are seeing your doctor and ask him if this can be causing your UTIs too. J
I hope this was helpful!
Wish you all the best!
