Rash after gall bladder surgery

I am in my 5th week after my gall bladder surgery. 

As mentioned earlier, the pain is still there (has not increased or decreased)  and now I feel itchy and have a slight rash on my chest and arms .. In addition to the pain killers now I’m taking anti- allergy meds. 

The doctors just tells me to take pain killers and that I should just wait and it will get better. 

This is really getting very frustrating. Anyone else been in the same position and if so, what is it that I need to do. 

Any advise would be helpful

I can’t comment on the pain but the itching can be caused by excess bile salt. I had it and I was given a med called questran light which is a bile binder it really helped.

I was still in quite a lot of pain for the first 8-10 weeks after surgery. It took a good 6 months to feel like my stomach muscles had started to heal too. Despite it being a laparoscopic surgery, people don’t realise it’s a major surgery! It honestly takes a long time for internal wounds to heal. So what you’re feeling is totally normal (apart from the rash and itching). I’d ask the docs to take a quick blood test just to make sure liver function is ok xx
