well my trip to the dentist was great!! she is very nice ( new practice) she had a good look at my teeth, and she said it's not as bad as I thought, I do have some gum receding, but it could be a lot worse, she listened to all my woes about my hips, and she said there is no need for anti biotics as everytime I brush my teeth my gums bleed, so if I was going to get an infection in my hip it would have happened by now, also, the new thinking regarding thr for dental patients is too many anti biotics and your body becomes resisitant to them, so I'm going back august the 4th and we start our plan for a complete overhaul, if i get my hip appt. in the middle of treatment no problem we just pick up where we left off as soon as i'm able to.
My drive home was nice it was sunny again!! my neighbor and i had a wee chat, she has fybromyalga, when i got in to start the dinner the pain in my upper thigh just down from my butt on the operated side started with a vengeance!! I put volterol on, took 2 nurofen and a codiene , and it's only just eased, I really can't wait to see my surgeon again, as i think i have an inflamation in my trocanter not the bursea, anyway I'm sitting down now, and hopefully i'll get some sleep later, as my bad hip is so painfull now It keeps me awake.on reading this through before posting, I have realized that if my trocanter is infected it could be as she said the bleeding gums could have caused it
Oh Lynne I'm so glad your ok, been thinking about you. So glad it's not as bad as you thought, it's really pleasant when you find a dentist that you can get on with, they seem so few and far between. Hope your leg is feeling better, and you can rest tonight.
For once I have had a super day, started with picking up my new car, learning to drive it as it an automatic and I haven't driven one of those before. I haven't driven a car since before last Christmas and I was like a kid with a new toy.... I had no side effects either nothing hurt, thank goodness..... at least I won't have to pay for taxis anymore if Alan is poorly.... I will pit a pic on here for you xxx
Glad to hear it wasn't too bad for you. I too have had the teeth experience! This will make you laugh. I was told by my dentist I wasn't cleaning properly and had too much plaque and needed to have a deep clean with the hygienist. She told me I would neeed a jab for the pain! I was terrified, not just about that but I stupidly googled it (as you do) and saw that was true and you would need painkillers too and wouldn't be able to eat very well, just soup. I phoned my hip after care clinic in a panic about infection risk and they said it was all OK so long as no major holes were involved. I went in, told the lovely hygienist I was terrified and would rather have a hip replacement! I told her what the dentist said about injections and pain etc. She laughed and told me she had never given anyone an injection so far but perhaps I had low pain threshold!! I said not after having a hip operation on just paracetemol. I didn't feel a thing. So all was well . Hope all your treatment will be too. She did suggest perhaps leaving Dr Google out of it next time.
That is great news Lynn. So glad everything turned out so well for you. If you want help with your bleeding gums try some corsodyl mouth wash. It really does help. My dentist recomended it to me and it helped a lot before my op.
