A few days ago I noticed that I have a strange feeling near my heart : it feels like butterflies, something like muscle fasciculations, just right at my heart. It passed away on its own, at least that's what I thought.
But yesterday I noticed it again, and I became concerned. Then I found out (Internet) that this exactly describes atrial fibrillation. I'm really worried since then.
It just comes and goes. It lasts a few minutes at most. I have no other symptoms.
I read that afib is very rare in my age, but it looks exactly like that to me..
Is this surely afib or can it be something else?
I've forgot to mention that I feel that my heart is beating normally (not faster or slower, and rhythmically) when I'm having these sensations.
Only your doctor can tell you.
It's unlikely to be atrial fibrillation in someone your age. It could be harmless ectopic beats or palpitations.
Are you anxious or worried about something?
See your doctor to arrange an ECG, a simple test to check your heart.
Good luck
Thanks for responding,
going to see my doc then, I hope it's nothing serious.
Hey can you provide us with an update?, did he provide you with an ECG or did he dismiss your health concerns and trivalize your symtpoms?
