Really worried now .

hi posted on here Friday about having smear and having coil out after along time since Tuesday evening have slight bleed every now again but it's been 13 years since a period . But today bleed still slight but seem to be on going now , can I be having a period been my age is 57 😖 Can anyone help with some advice please .

My periods didnt stop until I was 57. Exactly 10 years after first signs of hormone changes. Unfortunately 14 years later still having all the symptoms of unbalanced hormones. Much prefered the periods

I was a midwife and it is normal to have a bit of a bleed after the coil is removed, at any age. Try not to worry but if it continues, ask your GP for reassurance. Not sure where you live but if it is in America, that will be the job of your gynaecologist.

Hiya Alison , thank you for your reply it's a worry will contact doctor on Monday and see what they say 😡

Hi Anne. its most likely because you have had your coil in for a very long time - they're supposed to be replaced every 5yrs, & as Alison also said - its pretty normal to have a bleed after coil is removed. I would SUGGEST ( & not lecture you) to see your gp in the first instance - she may well want to do a transvaginal ultrasound to check you out which is normal practice with unexpected/abnormal/erratic bleeding. Take care hun, & please try not to worry. xxx

Try not to worry. It is easier said than done, but let us know how you get on. We are here for you, whatever you discover but I am sure you will be ok.
