Beruhigung von jemandem, dass es ihnen besser geht, nachdem sie die Menopause hinter sich haben

Hello i have been on this forum many times and have had support from many of you My question today is , is there anyone out there who could please vouch that they have been through this and feel better post menopausal? THANK YOU!

Hello yes i am two years almost three years post and I had every symptom possible and I now feel great. Had to change my diet totally as I learned certain foods made me worse. Have now lost the weight I had started to gain, loads more energy and very few symptoms. I think we have to change with our bodies. I feel back to my old self. good luck

i've been post for 4yrs never really had symptoms in peri but haveing them all in post headaches lightheadedness neck pain anxiety plus few more symptoms i think everyone different

Hi. I am post menopausal (about 4years) I certainly feel a lot better than I have done. I have experienced frozen shoulder; left sided breast/rib pain and other joint pain in this stage (along with other symptoms) so definitely not plain sailing. But I changed my diet, I am now fully vegan . I try to eat fresh and organic where possible. I do feel a lot better. i still have blurry vision without glasses and I still experience the 'fog' brain and low libido but on the whole it appears that things are improving. wishing you all well x

May I ask, when you went through peri, did you ever use any meds or hrt? Or go through naturally?

I am not on any medications (doctor prescribed an antidepressant which I have not taken and GYN offered HRT which I will not start) I do have an antianxiety med for difficult times as my Doc doesn't prescribe a lot (which is a good thing)

Thank You

have to agree with Cindy its all down to diet. I am also on plant based diet, no dairy and no sugar. Difference has been incredible .

Hi no i never took as was afraid of side effects and you are only prolonging the inevitable. My friend was on it for years and now almost 60 and going through everything I went through. Honestly its diet and exercise. our bodies can no longer digest the foods we used to eat . Sugar made me bloated, sluggish and flush and sweat. Coffee, alcohol, spicy food and any thing tomato based made my reflux worse. pasta, bread again bloat also dairy. I found moving onto plant based diet fun it made me excited about food again. I have lost weight and feel great . No more sweating at night and sleeping better.

Right, if you go on HRT, isn't this just prolonging the inevitable? I mean naturally we are supposed to go through this process.

May I ask you another question, because this is my biggest issue, did you have the anxiety and weepy feelings at all?

And, thank you so much for your responses. I know I am nearing the end of peri and would love to hear that I may actually feel better some day.

I am having same q in mind from long...thanks for this post . me in Peri...having sooo many symtoms very days.. By reading all reply of this post give me motivation that HANG US THERE... Thank u

I know, right? I have been prescribed HRT and antidepressants, I take neither. I just want to know if I have side effects, if it's actually me or the meds! At least now I know any symptom is all my body.

I am 56. (i unfortunately spotted a few months back) I have had all symptoms, with the worst, as I said in a post above, being the anxiety/depression. BUT there are some (very few) days that I do not feel those feelings anymore.
Then there's the next day and my anxiety is through the roof.

So I am just looking for the light at the end, and if there was one.

hi mam one q from my side too do u have heavyness in head , off balance and dizziness issues too..this is most scary symtom for me😭😭 Really inspired from ur reply that Hang is there..its tought phase and will pass. Thank u

I know I utilize this blog mostly when I am feeling down. I wonder if many do that and that is why we don't hear often about getting through it. My Grandma had 3 or 4 years of peri, then did much better. Still some health anxiety, even though she lived to 100. I am hopeful for the same as I have the depression, anxiety, weepiness, heart palps, aches and pains, digestive issues, etc. Thanks for posting question and to all who responded. We really need to hear about the easing of this mess. Here is to good days!

same here mam..my Dr gave antidepressants and sleeping pills..i always think about its side effects soo didnot started yet Difficult phase of life it is .but reading some of reply in this post..i feel good that some ladies r fine after crossing this peri and enjoying there life again waiting for better days tk

yes same for me. my doctor gave me antidepressants, I took one dose, felt horrible afterwards, never took it again. I'm a mess every day, Anxiety, headaches, head pressure but I am just taking one day at a time. I think taking meds might just prolong everything. let's pray this phase passes soon.

Hi there. I am 7 months into official menopause and i am back to my normal self! I started feeling better last August - so 1 month before official menopause started for me. I have improved each month since and considered myself totally back to my normal self around January of this year. I was deep in the weeds with peri symptoms and had so many debilitating issues. Anxiety was my worst symptom. I was not an anxious person before July of 2017 when all my peri symptoms hit me hard and furious, spinning my life out of control and sending me into a very scary and dark, desperate place. In search of answers and cures for my symptoms, I was prescribed BHRT and took them for 5 weeks. Bled almost the entire time and felt worse on them, so quit. I started taking the BHRT in August of 2017 and stopped in Septemebr of 17. I didn't take anything else after trying them. I just dealt with my symptoms and tried to muddle through. I was in such a bad place with my symptoms. You will come out the other side of this time of your life and be yourself. I seriously wondered if I would ever be even a partial version of myself and I am so happy to tell you I am totally back to the old me! I even have my old stamina and drive back.... I figured that was gone forever based on how I felt for so long. I was just hoping to regain my balance and some energy and maybe be able to multi task a little bit. I am now able to handle all of the bs of the daily grind of running errands, multi tasking many, many things and am even able to think clearly and have sharp, fast conversations ( which I was not able to do for many many months while in peri). Things don't overwhelm me and I don't mind going out into public and around people anymore. You will get there, too. Believe this because it will happen. I am so grateful to have myself back that I cry sometimes! Now, I don't look like I did pre- peri .... I look older ( dry hair, sagging neck skin, stuff like that) but after going through feeling so awful and feeling so lost and desperate it has brought a new level of comfort and acceptability with myself that I'm actually pleased with. Kinda put things into perspective for me! Hang in there! You will get through this and be who you have always been before it all came crumbling down. Hugs and thoughts for you.

hello NANC,

It's been about 14 months since I had a period and I feel great now compared to the way I did going through peri. I had every symptom and had thought I was dying at times. It will get better!

Take Care!

ur right dear taking medicine will prolong this its natural process will go its own way..we have to tackle it ..its tought phase of life..but will over one day . every have a drunk feeling in head .heavyness , off balance and headaches every day issues 😭 Hang is there Tk

hi wendy ..im ten yrs post menopause and i to have symptoms related to menopause..my periods stopped suddenly at 42 no symptoms at all..i have found myself i get some now...dr said post meno is for life and symptoms can linger .go and come back..never had a hot flush or night sweat but do experience neck pain dizziness aura and mild headaches also frozen shoulder

I am four years post menopause and i had every symtom going! Thankfully the anxiety has gone but sometimes i might feel abit anxious at times but it goes! I still get migraine auras but not headaches. I still get dry eyes and allergies but again this comes and goes! I had to cut my food portion sizes down to keep my weight down, i still drink alcohol and coffee and pretty much back to how i was. I invested in some hair growth shampoo as i felt like my hair growth was stunted but it seems to have helped! I take a multi vit and swim a few days a week, things do seem better generally now.
