Recently been diagnosed with genital herpes.

I’ve been in pain for about a week and a half. Particularly around my anus area. It hurts when I tried to poop, it felt like I was pushing glass out. I had this anus problem about 3 months ago but it went away. It came back and a few days later I discovered a bump in a rectal area. Sort of pimple like. And a few more formed. Mainly around the anus but there is 1 or 2 outside of my vagina towards the back.

My mom was convinced it was hemmoroids. It hurts me when I walk because my cheeks would grind on eachother. It hurts when I sit, especially when I try to poop. I don’t go half of the time because the pain is excruciating.

I went to the ER and they looked at the area and told me straight off the bat that I had genital herpes. No tests had been done, but I guess it’s that common that they can diagnose it without any lab tests. They put me on an antiviral medication to get rid of the “sores”, and I been on it for 4 days now. I take the pills 3 times a day. Sores haven’t gone away and my anus is still very painful.

Now I’m not sure who I got it from because I’ve had 2 sex partners in the past 2 weeks. My boyfriend now, & my ex (whom I only slept with once before this happened, & 2 days before sleeping with my boyfriend again) But I slept w my boyfriend 2 days after my ex. I’ve had a hard time pooping a few months ago, but these bumps are just appearing.

So I’m real confused as to what to do, whom to tell. I don’t want to accuse my ex, or accuse my boyfriend. I feel this information is personal and I should just keep it too myself. This information made me depressed and I feel like I can’t have sex anymore at all, because I’m so worried about passing it on to somebody else.

If I stay on the anti-viral medication, will a partner still catch it? I’m just confused and this whole thing is taking a toll on me. Any advice for my particular situation would be great thank you.

I also been having white creamy discharge.

My best advice is to suggest testing to your boyfriend like “I want us both to get a full panel with hsv  because I just saw someone post on social media  that there are some sti’s that you can have without symptoms, and the doctors don’t even test for hsv unless you request it”. Also, you need to be tested for specific hsv type because it makes a difference.

You should really get tested for it, swab test if u still have lesions. If not blood. Or both

Catch the chance you still have lesions and take other doctor opinion. Dermatologist and surgeon
