Recently diagnosed, feeling terrible!

I've been having blood test for about 10 years to monitor thyroid but always came back normal, this last test I had a couple of months ago came back as underactive. I was reluctant to go straight into medication and instead decided to have another test in 3 months. Since that test I have been put up to full time hours at work and since then my body feels like it is falling apart. I feel constantly exhausted, my joints and head are aching and I am feeling generally dizzy and my head feels floaty?? Don't know how best to describe it other than my brain feels all over the place. Other than irregular periods I hadn't really experienced any symptoms but is it normal now I am always working for my body to change that quickly? Any advice would be appreciated, I don't know anyone else with this condition. Thanks

Hi lisa, sorry to hear you sound so rubbish at the mo.I was diagnosed about 4 mths ago and put in 50mg of levothyroxine and i wouldnt say i am 100% back to my normal self but i feel much better.

Defo sounds like your body is crying out for abit of help.I would urge you to get on the meds asap especially with having extra hours to work. The brain fog feeling is awful but the only exhaustion is horrendous.

Get yourself into see your doctor and get some meds before you end up really poorly xxx

Hi Stacy how long did you find with the meds that you started to feel abit better? I think it is a cry for help! I'm not particularly good at looking after myself anyway so I really feel like my body is trying to tell me to slow down! The brain fog is the worse, I keep getting so muddled and feeling abit all over the place! I've got a phone appointment on Friday to discuss it, I just really hoped I wouldn't need medication, especially for life thanks for getting back to me xxx

I felt better literally straight away. The body aches still come and go but the exhaustion and brain fog was better more or less straight away.I would definitely go on the meds hun you can cause your body some serious issues not looking after your thyroid.

Let us know how your telephone consult goes x

Oh well that's good then! I think I'm going to have to set myself reminders to take the tablet, I'm awful at remembering these things! Will let you know how it goes x

I leave mine nxt to my bed and as soon as i wake i take them x

I just spoke to my doctor (an hour after my appointment time &#128553 she has told me to have another blood test as my symptoms might just be me feeling tired from working more. I know that it is more than just tiredness, and having another blood test means it's going to be another few weeks before anything gets sorted đŸ˜¢ X
