Recently got positive results for hsv 1 and 2. What next?

Hey guys I am freaking out a bit. I recently got my std results back and everything came back negative expect for herpes. I am positive. I've been having symptoms for the past 3 months. My index shows:

Herpes simplex 1 igg -> 1.21

Herpes simplex 2 igg -> 1.23

I have a couple of questions. Since it is under 3.5 will I need a second test to see how high risk I am? Or will my index keep increasing as I continue life with herpes?

Also I have been experiencing itching, burning, and bad odor down stairs (I am a female) at first I thought it was just bacterial vagnosis but I tested negative for that and negative for yeast so I guess these symptoms are being caused by my herpes infection. Does anyone have any advice or remedies to clear up these symptoms? They are becoming uncomfortable

Thank you for reading I am scared and shocked and still doing more research on this. I just scheduled an appointment with my gynecologist to talk more about it and seeing if I can get more testing done but it wont be until 4 days from now so information from you guys is greatly appreciated to ease my mind.

The testing I got was urine, culture swab, and blood test

if it’s been at least 3 months since your last intercourse, an index of 1.23 and 1.21 both fall into the low positive range and you need a Western Blot to confirm it because it is the gold standard and is more accurate than igg tests. If you test igg again you might just get the same results. Terri Warren is a herpes expert who can help you get the blot, but it’s expensive ($314).

I’m not sure about all the testing and the risk factor of it all bcc I just had a culture swab done.

But I can help with the burning, itching, and odor. When I went through my first outbreak the burning was so intense that it felt cold and numb. I used Vagicaine (hope I spelled that right) you can get it from CVS. It has the highest percentage of numbing solution that you can get without a prescription that is what the pharmacist said. It helped so much with the burning that I actually got a full nights rest. It also helps with itching.

Epsom salt also helps with itching. It dries everything up and helps kick the healing into motion. Do NOT use if you have open lesions. It. Will. STING.

The odor all I can really give is to just keep everything clean. Don’t use stuff that has a smell. That could irritate the outbreak even more and cause some serious burning.

Hoped this helped some. Xx
