Looking for recommendations for a hip surgeon. It seems no-one wants to name surgeon or hospital where they have experienced either good or bad results.
I always seek personal recommendations and check reviews before making choices.
For this most important choice of my life I am not finding any answers.
Mine was sorted in Hythe kent private hospital bt through NHS ASHFORD my consultant was brilliant he works both places. If you call consultants for hip surgery in your are they should give how many procedures they have done just an idea.
I had mine done in November 15 at the Royal Fee Hospital in Hampstead, NW3. My surgeon was brilliant he took in every fear I had and made it better, promised me I will walk normally again and I am. Cannot spell his name, but it is Mr Man!!!!!
Hi. I went to the Royal national orthopaedic hospital in Stanmore north west London and saw a Mr Carrington. I had my right done in February 2015 and am now in the process of being re-referred with a view to get the left done.
I had Nick Garlick 8-9 years ago at the St J and St Eliz, and he's now at the Royal Free, NW3, I think. 16 months ago I had second one done, by Sarah Muirhead-Allwood. Both good, King Edward VII Hospital with Sarah MA lovely, especially the pool.....
Hi Joy, I'm now 10 days post -op & had my surgery at The Nuffield Warwickshire (based in Lamington Spa). My surgeon was Mr Andrew Shepherd who I chose based on quite a few weeks worth of research. He's a teaching surgeon who specialises in hips & knees but predominantly hips.
The National Joint Register is also a good source of research - ideally you should be looking for anyone that performs over 100 hip replacement/revisions per year.
