Rectocele & cystocele repair post-op lump?

Hi ladies! I had a cystocele and rectocele repair on the 21st (so 4 days ago). The doctor used a tape sling for the cystocele and stitching for the rectocele. I honestly had no idea what to expect and didn't even know that he would be cutting2 slits on my outer labia. What's actually hurting me now are the interior stitches which I assume are from the rectocele repair. I wanted to check out what was going on down there and there is a lump, almost like 1/2 of a finder, bulging out of my vaginal canal. Is this normal? Am I just swollen? I'm freaking out over here!

Matron will be able to help you Luna, from what I've read bulging is normal but Matron is very qualified and helpful and I'm sure she will reassure you soon.  Good luck

Lunabela, I am not sure what the other procedure is you have had but the postiria is one I have had along with the anteria, my pain is coming from the postiria, I daren't look so I carnet tell you what it looks like but I am very swollen and feel sore and acking down there still taking codeine, I suppose it is a bit heavy, I watched a vidio of the operation and they cut down the back wall and put three big stitches in so I would imagine it would not look pritty, 

i can can only give you my experience but we all heal difrently Lv hugs coming your way xx

Its too soon hun to worry what it looks like! You will be very swollen for a long while yet.had my anterior repair a,week ago and no way am I looking😁ill wait till I'm told all had healed and been a success.

I'm a worry wort,can't worry constantly about what I look like.give your body time to heal,and promise me no looking😘😘😘😘

Hi chic, I have had a little look, but very very swollen so I would think what you are seeing is normal but remember no straning

Oh no another lady checking 🙀 Welcome to the forum Lunabella and I'm pleased to hear your surgery is over with but now the hard part......the recovery. The lump is perfectly normal so please don't worry. It will be there for quite a few weeks yet so complete rest for the next 2 weeks and allow yourself to heal x

I didn't know they used a sling for cystocele? Is that because of leakage matron?xx

It's used if a lady has leakage yes x

Linabella, are you ok Lv, I have had ups and downs since last Tuesday, have you got help at home?

matron a question from me, since going to the toilet on Sunday I haven't taken any softness as it is very soft but gone back on the codeine so do you think I may need to go back on something?

What's codeine? Is that antiinflammatory?💕💕

No it's an opiate painkiller

Can I use femfresh or Andres wipes after the toilet matron or best not use anything?my husband going up shop for pads lol.xxx

Femfresh should be ok as long as it says gynaecologically tested x

Any others matron.just want to feel fresh after toilet. Splashing with water isn't always practical. Get wet knickers😂😂

I think I've already mentioned Lactyacid. It comes in wipes as well as liquid although I haven't seen the wipes recently but I always use the liquid type when I shower x

Yes I remember the wash but wanted something I can keep downstairs jusdt to use after going for wee, so I feel fresh.I'll check the wipes I mentioned.xx
