i am only 7 days over surgery for a rectocele repair. i feel awful. i have a bad dragging sensation in my stomach and feel constantly bloated. is this normal. i cannot get comfortable
Siobhan. This procedure always makes ladies feel grotty. You need a long time to get over it and should be mainly laying down for at least 2 weeks doing absolutely nothing but pampering yourself. No lifting and no standing for more than 5 minutes. Are you doing too much…trying to carry on as normal? That is usually the cause of problems. You have been cut in a very tender place and need it to heal well. It will take several weeks, just doing a little bit more each day. Do you have somebody to help you? If you have a partner has he been told that you need help or is he expecting you to carry on as normal? Do you need a mild laxative to help you pass a motion?
i am 3 weeks post cystocele and rectocele repair. im appalled at how uncomfortable ive been. i’ve been reading on other discussions & it has hepled me feel a bit better. many people feel the same
hey there, I’m 10 days and had the roughest “recovery” of any surgery (boobs, hand surgery, appendectomy, hysterectomy, and now rectocele/cystocycle)
I was 7 months pregnant looking and feeling for about a week. SO MUCH GAS.
get some Milk of Magnesia. I messes around with low strength laxatives…yeah, get the MOM. take the smallest dose, 2 tablespoons I think…drink LOTS OF WATER, eat your fruit and veg, and drink lots of water:)
remember that pain meds the dr has prescribed MAKE you constipated. it’s a catch 22 really.
I’m so sorry you’re miserable:( the first 5 days was a nightmare.
