Starting this new discussion to get specifically into what my problem is.
Rectocele repair Dec. 30, 2014 with mesh. Result - too tight. Still (7 months later) feels like razor blades when we try to have intercourse. Using lots of lubricant - doesn't matter. Have a dilator set now... anyone else in this situation?
I had mine 12/17/14. I STILL have pain 24/7.
So sorry. I think we're in the same boat... Are you doing anything to help it? Has your surgeon/gyn recommended anything?
Mine said that I may need more surgery to loosen it. I was in extraordinary pain the first go round - unbelievable - and cannot imagine more surgery.
He was going to send me to someone for pelvic manipulation !?!? His office was supposed to contact them and they were supposed to give me a call several times I never heard from them. I tried doing stretches and things on my own it helps a little. He tried to act like no one has ever had these complaints which I find hard to believe. I think he basically just blew me off because he didn't know what to do about it.
Did they tell you what "pelvic manipulation" is? You may want to ask for the number to call them directly yourself. (I've had to do this for other appointments.) My surgeon had mentioned in advance that sometimes ladies end up too tight and he had to do a procedure after. But I'm always optimistic and didn't expect it with me. What are you doing on your own, if you don't mind sharing? I know this is embarrassing!
I had a rectocele repair last November and sex is still painful, even with loads of lube, have used a dilator too but not much joy. And now to make things worse I now have a cystocele, going back to hospital next month to get checked out. Great being a woman sometimes ...not
Oh, Froglet! I fear this, too! I'm having an awful time with bladder leakage since the surgery - very little problem previous to the surgery (did Kegel excercises) - this wasn't something mentioned as a side effect of the surgery. I'm so sorry you've had such trouble, too. Please stay in touch so that we can console and encourage one another! Let me know how the hospital visit goes...
I never had bladder problems before surgery, mine was all bowel/rectum related and naively thought getting that repaired would be the end of my problems but sadly not. Also have had 8 months of poor health since my op,very bad flu, which I've never had before, gum infections and just recently skin vasculitis which has left me with extremely sensitive skin to just about everything. Poor old immune system in meltdown. Here's wishing us all wellness and good health and sex lol
Me, too. Helped my bowel problem (I diagnosed that the rectocele was causing the problem!) You might check with your GP - it doesn't seem like all that should be a result of the surgery...? Stay in touch.
