Hi group, I am two weeks and two days out from my rectocele, cystocele repairs. I opted to have it done, my rectocele was a 2 nd degree and I was having to push to get stool out, I also have diverticulosis and wondering which came first? Anywho I opted for no mesh or sling just surgical repair I figure if it fails then I still have the sling option My first recommendation is have a GYN or Urologist do the repairs, someone who does them a lot! Secondly,in the recovery room get an ice bag on it!! 24 hours at least stay with pain meds( Norco) Stool softeners, bedrest and ice bags! This helps so much I only had to take the pain meds three days. I took my Packing out end of day two(Just get ahold of it and pull gently about 12-16 inches will come out) It's useless then anyways as it will be soaked. I had light bleeding and still having some beige drainage now The stitches I can feel if I squat to pick something up as there is less swelling after first week and stitches are felt more They are dissolved in a couple weeks. At two weeks my doctor told me to start using an estrogen cream to further bring it back together This is kinda messy too so I don't plan on using it too long Ihad a hot flash from it too Im in my 60s so haven't had estrogen circulating for awhile.Anyways that's about it Take it easy, get help with kids and don't do much!!!

How long did you have to wait to have the rectocele repair, I am struggling to get an appointment and they are trying to tell me to do pelvic floor exercises no surgery has been mentioned although i think i might need it
Hi I have the same problem and no operation for it they gave me a mini irogatiom system to help mine is a mild rectocele but causing problems
Hi i have to take laxatives every day and then sometimes they dont work anyone else having bowel problems with the rectocele and when do they discuss surgery i wold like to know why pelvic floor exercises
how long is it before they recommend surgery for a rectoncele anyone know also what stages are there of a rectoncele i have just been left to deal with it on my own with no help from the consultants and dont know what to do any suggestions matron what do you recommend
