i am not native english speaker so apologies for any mistakes might be done in this post .for many years i have been suffering for anal mucus discharged. i have had visited many doctors but they used to say that c stress,,,bad diet habits..junk food caused all my problems...finally i was sent to hospital for serious checking and i have been diagnosed with moderate rectocele /4,2 cm/.i have had to go thru thousands of humiliating medicals test what took over two years !!and now result is they do not know!!!!what caused mucus discharge and this is not rectocele.i was told that during 25 years of my doctors practice he had has never heart of it!!my question is to the ladies who have had rectocele surgery with mucus discharge?and they are cured now?i have very painful intercourse /actually i am out of this markettoo uncomfortable during which i am slightly bleeding.my doctor also said never heart of it.i was checked 1000 times by gyns and they said from their point of view everything with my vagina is fine.the hospital has offered me a surgery without warranty the mucus discharge problem will disappear.for any post thank you in advance.xx
I have never heard of mucus discharge being a symptom of a rectocele in the articles I've read trying to find out about it for myself. Perhaps you have two things going wrong at once?
If you go to wikipidia and search for "Rectal Discharge", the article they have has a section on mucus discharge. That section also mentions Proctitis. The mayo clinic website has an article on Proctitis and lists symptoms. Maybe you could go read it and see if some of the other symptoms fit and then you can ask a doctor about it if you think that might be it.
It slows things down to post links, but if you search for "wikipedia rectal discharge" you will get the first artice. "Mayo Clinic Proctitis" will get the second.

i asked docs about proctitis but they said during colonoscopy they would have seen it but they had not found it however they mentioned about enormous quantity of mucus..in my country the doctor after 15 minuts!!of examination said i have had lax inner sphincter/here doctors deny/and too much mucus and lax sphincter can not hold it
at this stage they do not offer surgery as i control ..other things
but i insisted reg examination for bacteria overgrowth ..and i waiting for appointment ...i am struggle with it alone on my path my problems has put a shadow on my life...i am living with hope that one they they will discover something to tighten sphincter without surgery as it is very risky one thank you dorry c for support ...xxada
