Recurrent uti

urology now suggest cystoscopy via general anaesthesia to inflate bladder and see what going on. Any help please from anyone had this done

I've had countless flexible cystoscopies but never with a general anaesthetic, just a local. Very simple procedure and if you're awake you can even see the inside of your bladder on the screen.

I had it done and you are out and dont feel a thing. It showed that I have cystitis. Good luck.

Did you have the rigid cystoscopy with general anaesthesia, ?   What did they treat cystitis with?

Yes with anesthesia. Cystitis is inflammation of the bladder. It was so long ago I think they treated it with antibiotics. They do this to rule out anything more serious.

I have had both. Flexible and rigid. I promise you will not feel a thing. Me personally I think the worst feeling is getting the thin needle in the hand for the anaesthetic to be given. I had my bladder stretched so it would hold more urine. I also had botox injections into the bladder under General anaesthesia. Probably going on 9 years approximately. Cystitis is usually treated with an antibiotic. I know that it's daunting having a full on anaesthesia but remember that they do it multiple times every day. You didn't say what you need help with, so hopefully one of us has answered your concerns. All the best.

Hi and see Prof Malone Lee. He is virtually the leading authority worldwide or recurrent UTI infections. He works in London in Harley Street. That's my recommendation.
