I hoping that someone is experiencing the same as me and can offer some advice as I’ve been through the medical channels of GP, general surgeon and gastro specialist.
For around two years now I’ve had pain when passing bowel movements and minor bleeding. Not enough to drop and only visible on tissue paper.
I pass a BM 2-3 times per day and with the exception of the first they are always easy to pass and loose. The first BM however is always type 1. My diet is healthy and my fluid and fibre intake high.
At first I was diagnosed with internal haemeroids and had these banded. I also had a colonoscopy which was fine.
Then I was told it was fissures and had a GTN ointment which helped but the issue quickly returned.
I was then given Macrogol to soften the stool, which make the type 1 stools softer but otherwise no change to my BMs. Since going on the Macrogol I still get fissures but only when I am physically active.
Now I am unable to do anything involving lifting, be that exercise, household jobs or even lifting up the kids. All these activities make it feel like my anus is swollen and I bleed the next day.
