The truth is, Rakan, it could be either of these things, or something else completely different. As you are mentioning Friction, I take it you mean, for most Men there are two main sources of this - masturbation and penetrative sex. If it derives from penetrative sex things that give further complications to the skin itself are whether condoms are used, as, one of the causes of this kind of symptom can be a reaction to what the condom is made of (latex) or even the chemicals that are on the inside of condoms. If the main source or irritation, and therefore, hand-in-hand with friction, is masturbation - obviously the frequency and length of time spent masturbating are critical factors.
Added to this are factors such as whether any form of Lube is regularly used, often men will use whatever is regularly in the house, such as Baby Oil or skin lotions or creams - what can happen with these is that the skin in the area of the head (and foreskin for those who are intact) of the penis develops an intolerance to being exposed to these chemicals when regular friction is taking place.
Water based lubes, or natural plant extracts such as Aloe Vera Gel or liquid Coconut Oil are good alternatives as a lube - it may be an idea for you to try as Aloe Vera Gel or Coconut Oil for about 4 or 5 weeks ONCE you have got rid of the irritated skin, as both of these have natural skin healing properties and your skin elsewhere on your penis looks dry. Again dry skin is linked to usage of soaps shower gels and other bodily cleansers, and a lack of use of a Dermatologically appropriate moisturiser.
What you may have developed is a complete intolerance to any chemicals that have been getting in contact with the head of your penis - and potentially, you may need the help of a Dermatologist to overcome this. However, if you read below you may not need to do this by putting a range of good practices in place …
The essentials for you to do are: if you think you may have been exposed to an STD go and get yourself checked out at your Regular Doctor’s or a Sexual Health Service.
The other thing you need to work at on a daily basis are the chemicals your penis is exposed to on a regular basis.
Wash your penis with water only - and make sure you are completely dry by patting the skin with a clean towel - never roughly draw the towel backward and forward to dry yourself in this area. When you take a shower, as you are circumcised, you need to rinse thoroughly the entire penis and groin region to ensure any traces of things like shower gel or any other bodily cleansers are completely removed.
If this irritation does not clear away once you have excluded soap, and your thoroughly rinse and dry yourself correctly each time you take a shower, and if you happen to have been using Lubes on a regular basis such as those mentioned above - and, you have stopped using these , and you still have the irritation then you would even need to consider things like washing powder. Simply what you would do in this case would be to wash your underwear in Liquid Soap Flakes.
Essentially, to rid yourself of the symptoms of irritation that you currently have you need to consider a broad range of different things. Could you have an STD, or even something as simple a yeast or bacterial infection? Get yourself checked if you think you may have been exposed.
Work through the broader advice I have given above in a systematic manner - put good penile hygiene in place, and, particularly, how you dry yourself. Keep all chemicals away from the head of your penis. Once the irritation has gone for 4 or 5 weeks try a natural moisturiser such as Aloe Vera Gel or Coconut Oil on a daily basis for the skin of your entire penis.
Any feedback you have once you have tried any of this stuff would be good to know about, so please update your Forum Thread here …
