Hello Matt,
Have you been diagnosed LS, and by two dermatologists?
yes, as i say only by them looking at photos tho, the problem i have with it though is that whenever i look up LS the description of it or pictures of it look nothing like what i have , thats why i have my doubts, and a,so why would it seemingly respond to thrush / fungal treatments
matt, how old are you ?
50
Hi Matt
I think It does look like LS so you should really go back to the dermatologist and follow the treatment that they suggest you could also see a urologist for there opinion.
If you did get a proper diagnosis, written in your journal, you should trust your physicians and follow their recommendations. Especially if its two of them, making the same conclusions. A specialist is of course more qualified than a GP. Would you post the pictures shown to dermatologists, if you still have them? I have a LS diagnosis and my condition looks similar to yours.
Neither of them gave me any treatment apart from using Pro topic to dampen any flare ups down. As I understand it there is no cure for LS apart from circumcision?
OK if the treatment is not helping you should go back to the dermatologist and see if they have any other creams that might help or maybe some other treatments. It may not be possible to cure it but it does need to be managed. You may need to consider having a circumcision to help keep it from spreading to the urethra.
Looks very similar to my condition on the prepuce at least - diagnosed as LICHEN PLANUS. Yours doesn’t seem to show the characterisitics of Lichen Sclerosis where whitish skin develops.
ill bare that in mind thanks, though mine does not itch at all. ive also got rheumatoid arthritis so it could be something to do with me having a messed up immune system
I’d like to add something to my previous post – your photos are taken with a flash, right? I’m pretty sure that threw me off, since it makes all of it look whiter than it would otherwise.
