Red patch on penis

A couple months ago I noticed a light red patch on the glans on my penis and upon sexual arousal the patch would turn a darker red color. Upon more observation over the past couple months I have noticed that the patch has slowly grown in size. Upon touching the patch it felt looser compared to the rest of my penis gland, and I also feel no irritation, itching, or burning sensation. I have no clue what it might be.

Are you currently sexually active, if so do you use condoms?
This looks like there is some level of irritation going on, and this can be something that the skin is in contact with, such as a chemical in soap or other form of body wash - but there could also be some level of friction going on.
So, this most often has to do with masturbation practices - so for example some men rub there penises against material, or either create or purchase a synthetic vaginal opening. Do you do anything like this … ?

No, I am not currently sexually active and I also do not rub my penis against any material or a synthetic vaginal opening.

Where you have the red patch the skin in the area has become unhealthy for some reason, I was trying to find explanations as to why this may be.
If there is nothing obvious going on that is causing it you have two options:

  • wait and see if it becomes healthy again, if you regularly masturbate it would be an idea to restrict or abstain from this as much as you can
  • when the skin has been like this for a number of weeks it would take probably in excess of 3, 4 or even 5 months to begin, and then to fully heal
  • healing will ONLY take place when whatever has caused this is no longer in place, and this is why it would have been easier to deal with if there was an obvious cause
    .
The other route you can take is the medical, contact your GP / Regular / Family doctor - what may help is if you are given a steroid ointment to enable the skin to begin to heal and become stronger again.
If in the long-term this persists you would need to see a Dermatologist as the possibility is you MAY have an actual skin condition developing, but, trying a prescribed steroid ointment is the first step

Thank you for the information I will take the first option first because i have already abstained from any sexual activity for a month already and if the problem persists I will look into the second option. Thank you for the information once again.
