Red skin irritation on Penis for over 4 weeks now.

Hi all. Have red skin irritation on penis shaft and foreskin. Was given Daktacort by GP and have used E45 emmolient but nothin seems to clear it.

Best to tell GP and get something else prescribed.

It's probably balanitis, but Daktacort seems a bit strong, so you probably have a bad case, and this may be best left to the doctors.

Washing (with water, no soap) daily, and taking a leak and washing after masturbation or sex will probably help, and you could also try Canesten cream or Daktarin cream.  Loose fitting cotton underwear may help, and some sites recommend washing underwear with non-biological washing powder or liquid.
