ive been really concerned about my penis head, been happening for almost as long as i can remember (like flaring up/breaking out for a few weeks then goes away for some time) and i never put too much thought into it cuz i thought it was normal but im not so sure anymore
i hope these pics are enough, sometimes its worse and other times its less apparent or not there at all. it often starts out small then over the course of a few days the redness sorta grows, then recedes over the course of a week or two. but comes back after sometime between a week-a few months
things to note:
*im 19
*it doesnt ever cause pain, bleed, or secrete anything
*ive never had sex or even kissed anyone so far due to my religion. and dont masturbate often, though when i do it seems to make it worse
*multiple times (during checkups/physicals) has my doctor seen my penis while it was red like this and did not comment about it, so either this is normal and im freaking out or they didnt care
*i didnt have great body hygiene in my teen years (would still wash my hands every day) though this was already happening before that, and now i shower daily but havent seen much improvement
*i havent gone to a doctor/clinic/dermatologist for this condition specifically
*i tried a psoriasis relief cream cuz i thought i might have psoriasis but it didnt make it better or worse. i read somewhere that petrolatum/petroleum is no good for the penis head so i stopped using it. i know my grandfather had psoriasis so its a possibility i have it but this is the only place on my body that my skin does this.
*lately ive been limiting things (no soap or lotion, just water) that the head comes into contact with which seems to help a little but not by much
ill respond to any questions anyone has and give updates like most people dont seem to do in other discussions. anything helps though if you know anything any insight about whats happening to me or if its happening to you too please share even if you dont know anything, also if you know things that have helped with it or cured it entirely if thats even possible. that or perhaps this is normal and i shouldnt be worried? i dont know
ive done a bit of research and i havent been finding much to relate to, my best guess is balanitis but i cant be certain cuz that has a few more symptoms that i just dont experience. so i really have no idea what it could be if its not that or psoriasis.
