Reflux while cycling

I am suffering from reflux or hernia not sure for some time now while cycling or walking downhill, most interesting part is that reflux is always activated on every downhill but goes away while climbing, I am stuck now on home bike without any reflux problem, any help are appreciated!

My sympathies. I've got LPR and probably a hiatus hernia. I tried to do a little exercise on my WiiFit a while ago and spent the next two days feeling very unwell. I thought I would be all right with some gentle jogging, stepping and hula hoop. Obviously, I was wrong. I've got an exercise bike too and find I'm all right on that as long as I make sure I sit upright and don't bend over while pedalling. Sorry I can't help with any more ideas, but you're not alone!

Got up very early and travelled for 3/4 hour to my hospital appointment with the consultant. BUT I was seen by a nurse who wanted all my details...there were no records held there...then she said I would have to have a procedure beginning with M where a tube goes down my nose to my stomach for 24 hours, to look for reflux...because they haven't found any so an operation may not be helpful. If there is no reflux how come I've got Barrett's Oesophagus which is caused by reflux?? Very frustrating!

Funny you mention this about cycling. I noticed this just the other day. I have my road bike (dropped bars) on a trainer for the winter. I noticed that it seemed like I was uncomfortably pushing on the LES when I was riding. I had the stand for the front wheel on somewhat of a downhill setting. So I put it level and now there is no problem. If you make the bike simulate uphill it might be even better. I haven't noticed it when riding outside though I haven't been on my road bike outside since October.
