Reinstating Sertraline after a too fast taper

Hi!

This is my first post, so I hope it's okay.

I've been on Sertraline for something like three years. Most of the time on 100 mg. Seeing that I had taken it for a long time and that I was feeling ok I contacted my doctor. He said that I could taper off it. From 100 to 75 to 50 to 25 and then quit.

He suggested reducing the dose every two weeks, but I wanted to go a bit slower. I lowered once a month. It's now been almost a month since I took my last dose of Sertraline. I've experienced some of the physical symptoms, mostly brain zaps, but those have passed.

However, yesterday I had a lot of anxiety after a tough day at work. So much so that I had to go home early. Today the anxiety persists, sometimes I just cry. It comes.and goes.

My question is: did I taper too fast? Would it be a good idea to reinstate Sertraline now after a month off of it, or should I try to ride it out? And what dose is recommended in that case?

All the best,

Oscar

Hi I think you may have gone to fast doctors seem to think you can come off to quickly. Every one is different so don't despair just cut done abit slower at the hospital some people coming off those took some 6months some 12 like I said it all depends one individual xx

Sorry each individual xx

Hey, thanks for your reply!

So do you think going back on Sertraline for a while is a good idea?

Yes I think so just taper very slowly I promise you'll be ok go at your own pace we all react differently to coming off any drug xx

Thanks!
