Removal of right tube and ovary

I had my right tube and ovary removed last year due to tubo ovarian abscess. After many failed attempts to shrink it the dr decided to remove my ovary and tube. I had to have open surgery due to having peritonitis 12 years ago (which I caught got through giving birth to my daughter!) anyway, my question is, are my hormones affected? Because since the op, I sweat constantly. I have just started a new job and feel totally embarrassed about the amount that I sweat! Is this normal? Do I need to get hormone tablets from my dr? Iam 40 and feel really depressed about it

It sounds like you need hormone replacement I would see you Dr

Seems odd your doctor did not discuss the possibility that you may go into early menopause before the surgery. It's possible one ovary is not producing enough. Hot flashes are definitely a symptom for many women. You should be able to control that with hormones, but I would think the doctor would want to have blood tests done to measure your estrogen levels.

Thank you. My daughter has said the same thing that I should go to my dr. Thank you for your reply xx

Really?! I thought that my dr would just prescribe them straight away. Never crossed my mind that I would have to have tests! Thank you for replying to me xx

I remember my doctor checking my levels at menopause and I'm not even sure there was a problem. So I'm assuming your doctor would want a clear picture of how much estrogen your body is producing. Guess you'll find out what your doctor's method will be, but it might not be a bad idea to discuss it with him.
