Retina problem after cataract surgery

I had my cataract surgery on my left eye last September. I left that doctor because he belittled my complaints. When I told him colors were all wrong with that eye, he told me to adjust my TV. When I told him that I couldn't see well with my left eye and everything was white and distorted and driving was difficult, he told me to put a patch over that eye to drive. My new doctor since September, first found that I was allergic to cataract drop, Durezol and my new glaucoma drops, Combigan. Because of the allergic reaction, some damage had been done to my cornea. That has stopped. He also  referred me to a retina specialist. My retina is so swollen and inflamed that I can hardly see anything with my left eye. I have had injections in my left eye, but the doctor says he can't operate  until the retina swelling goes down. I goggled cataract surgery resulting in retina problems and found that happens sometimes. My advice to anyone who has any symptoms such as mine, keep complaining to the doctor and find another one if the doctor trivializes your complaints. I am hopeful, but needless to say, I am worried and scared that I may lose my sight in my left eye. Time will tell. I live alone and get Social Security, but I have no pension, so I need to work until I die in order to keep my home and live a life.

Very sorry to learn about your terrible results from the cataract surgery, made much worse by the bad attitude of your surgeon.

However, I am glad that you are in the care of a more caring doctor and hope that your retina swelling goes down soon and you can see much better after the retina surgery,

Thank you for the kind words. I am so grateful to have found this site. It is so nice to have support. If anyone has problems like mine, I hope this helps them to not blindly (no joke intended) believe what their doctor says and get other opinions.
