Sirs,
I'm 52 years old,I had prostrate enlargement for two years from the size of 40 to 122. Beginning stage I got the feeling of urinating several times,it started dripping before entering the toilet. Last month it was stopped fully,no urine going, huge pain, after checking ultra sound my urologist advised to go for TURP,but he never expalained me anything about the aftermath of that TURP procedure. Dr. did the TURP on 19/05/17 everything went ok now I feel alright but one thing that is I don't get ejaculation. I get erection, sexual feelings but no ejaculation. Is it will continue or I'll get back?
Did you take any meds before or currently? Flomax can cause same symptoms. There is a chance with TURP of ending up with RE tho. Depends on your surgeon or your particular body. Everyone is different. Some get it, some don't.
Hi
That was wrong if your urologist not to inform you of the one almost guaranteed side effect of retrograde evacuation. As far as I know it is not reversible i
It is one of the side effects which may or may not happen to every one. As I know urologists always explain it to the patients. Let us hope if with passage of more time this situation gets better for you. Good luck.
RE is a very common side effect of TURP and as far as I know is not reversible. Your uro should have explained that to you.
You will never get it back.. It's just another doctor not giving the patient the information. You should have waited and looked into it. Your lucky you can still have a erection and the feelings because that sometimes goes a way to. That doctor was wrong should have told you all of the side effects so you could have made your discision. They feel when we get older we don't need it because we are not having kids. You could say he castrated you It does the same thing Take care Ken PS How is your peeing problem That is all the doctor was trying to fix
No, retro is something you'll have to live with. Hopefully you'lll not won't to have kids.
A lot of websites and urologists will tell you that the sex and the feeling will be exactly the same after the TURP you just wont ejaculate anymore. The research on this whole matter seem to support the idea that with all the research theyve done the sex and the feeling is still the same. I had the surprise of my life when I reached the first climax after the TURP and when I realised that this is the stupid little climax that I will have for the rest of my life and that is it. I went back to my doctor and he prescribed testosterone tablets and another tablet but simmilar to viagra. Well the climax stayed the same: nothing that I will call a climax. I kept on going back to him and told him that it was the biggest lei anybody ever told me and it ruined my life. He eventually told me to get out of his place,so after that TURP I will warn everybody about the TURP because there is just nothing that you can do after it is done. You cant even sue anybody.
Doctor should have warned you that it can cause permanent retro-ejaculation. Was it not explained in an explanatory leaflet?
BAUS information includes it. Search 'TURP leaflet'.
The urologist should have warned you about RE. It's unlikely ejaculation will come back - sorry.
Just to explain, what is happening is that you are in fact still ejaculating at climax but the fluids are passing back into the bladder instead of passing down the Urethra and out of the penis, and will be flushed out with your urine.
I have never heard of this being reversed.
Sorry to say.
Interesting, that your uro, didn't tell you that this would happen. Either that, or you missed it when it was explained to you?
Wally that is what alot of doctor will do. That is what they learn in school and in priceable they are right all men have orgasm. But FTER YOU HAVE THAT PROSTATE CUT OUT THAT IS NOT TRUE FOR ALL MEN
i THINK THEY LIE JUST TO GET YOU TO HAVE THE SURGERY KEN
My experience is exactly like yours Wally. The best way I can describe it is it's like listening to music in the next room-you can recognize the tune but can't make out the words. I really wonder if it's worth all the effort.
