Return to work and stretching

Thanking everyone on this blog for sharing their stories. I have been following the posts since May and they have helped me understand that what I have been experiencing through my healing is shared by others.

I am 11 weeks post a right TKR and have returned to work 4 hours per day. Not doing bad just still stiff and swollen at times but I know that will improve. Need to be more disciplined when it comes to stretching during the day. I get one big workout done per day after dinner (1hour) but need to make time for 30 minutes in the morning and noon. Since the PT released me I need an extra kick to get moving!

Any ideas to motivate myself would be appreciated😀

Usually it was my own body that motivated me...something feeling stiff or sensing a bend wasn't what it was. If 30 minutes in the morning and at noon seems like too much, break it up into smaller chunks and maybe set alarms on your phone to remind you. I was a bit of a freak about alarms to remind myself.

I think the alarms are an excellent idea - I might pick that one up myself! Other than that, I use as motivation something that I really want to do (in my case, get to see my daughter in another part of the country) and keep reminding myself of what I have to do to get there....

All the best, you're doing great

love the alarm idea.....I can't believe PT let you move on....I am still going 2x a week and I am almost 10 weeks post-op. I try and do my exercises throughout the day...I ride my stationary bike at night....might change that cause I think it is not helping my night pain....damn night pain...
