Revisions and repeat revisions

Revision of  R THR next week -  both hips replaced  due to dysplasia, 18 and 22 years ago anyone had more than one revision on the same hip? What can I expect? Apparently I probably need bone grafts because of bone damage. I really want to be better by July when I'll be 65.

Comments very welcome x

Dear Sally, imagine it feels overwhelming to see how it all works having both done. I only had one done, but my friend here, who is 70 had both done, she is 4 months out, she did great, by two months was walking 3 km every other day. She only had a friend's daughter come in to give her the injections, otherwise managed well at home, did her own PT at home. She is currently on a trip out of the country at this moment. So definitely, you,too can make a great comeback following your surgery. Wishing  you the best. It was helpful to have meals prepared ahead of time or having friends make some meals so it is not something you need to worry about. Blessings and hugs, Susan

dear susan i to have thr and tkr and i done all my own excerices and cookoing back at work now feeling good i use to take myself for a walk round my area while my husband was at work done the cooking i think it helps you get better quicker if you make yourself do things i am very independaent any way

I can relate to you being independent, that is the hardest thing to have to depend on someone for a while, but know you will do just fine after the initial healing process, patience is the key!!! enjoy your day today! susn

Sally, I cannot even guess what you can expect, but I want you to know that I am with you in spirit. I face a first revision in 3 days and I sure hope the best for you!
