Hi all. I haven’t logged in for quite a while. I wanted to give those considering Rezum a viewpoint from 1 year post procedure…
My other posts document how difficult I thought recovery was. I’d say that overall I have had about a 25% improvement in my flow. At times it can be as good as 50% better. Don’t know why sometimes it’s better than others. My urgency is pretty much gone. There are a few times when I wait a long time and it gets pretty urgent, but that’s rare. I can drive regularly now and only have to stop every 2-3 hours like a normal person.
When I do go, on a regular basis I empty my bladder. However, there are still nights where I go 4-5 times. Regularly I go 1-2 times per night. But sometimes (when I feel cold is when I notice it happens) I go, feel like I’m completely empty, but then after 15-20 minutes if I don’t fall asleep, I fill up again and go a BUNCH, with better than average flow. And this repeats several times during the night within a couple hour period. Once that period is over I don’t get up again. Not sure what causes it but luckily it isn’t a regular thing.
So I guess after all is said and done I’d have to say it was worth it. Not sure I’d do it again given the recovery and pain during and after the procedure but the end result is decent enough even though they definitely didn’t get my median lobe totally. I’d say if newer procedures are available take a good look at those!
Good luck
