Rezum and the tissue flowing out

Hi all

what i read and understood that steam shot is given through the urethra and is about 1 cm inside the prostate. The urethera stays intact and tissue is asimililated by the body.

But i have read and know that tissues come out in Urine post rezum; Any idea where these are coming from if the urethera is structurally not damaged?

I have had Rezum and just posed this question to my new urologist. He said that some of the dead prostrate tissue can make its way into the bladder. Then it is expelled from the bladder in the urine stream via the intact urethra. (The urethra does have a few pin holes in it from the steam injections, but nothing that would permit dead tissue to enter the urine stream.) I didn’t get the details of how the dead tissue gets into the bladder due to lack of time.

Note that I did not have much (if any) tissue in my urine after my procedure. I was just curious about this mechanism because I have read about people on this board experiencing this after Rezum.
