Riding exercise bike; feels great!

I found a gym close to my hotel in Thailand and finally got forward rotation on their stationary bike! It feels super duper! My knees aren't really behaving though. I find after I sit down for 30 mins or when I wake up, I need to stand for a few seconds before I can move easily! I am at nearly 5 months post double tkr's. I have to be patient and keep moving, I guess! Good wishes to all here. X

Hi Lyn, I am nearly 5 mths single tkr and have been using static bike since week3. I find it loosens my knee up in the morning however the other knee is getting worse and bike is annoying it. My new knee gets stiff too when I am in bed or sit but I find if I stretch it in bed or do leg raises when sitting it helps a bit. In some ways I wish I had both knees done at once as I am not really looking forward to going all over again. We do have tobe atient, I have been told can take up to 2 years to help with stiffness and some people always suffer. Enjoy your holiday x

Hi sue. Tks for your comments. I tried to ride the bike around 6 weeks post op and could not get full rotation. My trainer said the bike was the best exercise for knees. I was so disappointed and now I am so happy to be able to ride! Having both done was right for me but I understand why some surgeons will not do them together. I hope your knee continues to heal and your other knee ceases acting up. Two years of healing? Darn, and I was planning a trip to Mongolia next year! Will just have to wait and see. All the best! X

Hi Lyn, I am sure by next year you will be fine and if keep up the cycling could cycle round Mongolia!! Hope you enjoying Thailand, my daughter is going travelling in Sept for 3 mths and Thailand is on her list. Take care xx

Tks sue. I hope your daughter enjoys her trip. I return to Oz in a few weeks and I will be sad to leave here. All the best to you and thanks again for your kind words. Xx
