right side of neck swollen - lumpy

Hi All

On my right side there seems to be some kind of lump i can't work out if its a lymp node thats swollen but its sensitive when i press it and i have been getting ocassional pain from it..this has freaked me out..

I am going to go to the doctor to check it out..I'm worried it something serious..

I'm very stressed at the moment I'm wondering if I'm getting all these symptoms because of my stress..I also get headaches, stiff neck and always feel congested even when I dont have a cold..I've had quiet a few infections in the last 6 months..throat infection..and ear infections..

Any help would be much appreciated because I am a born worrier..

Yes, get yourself down to the Docs. There's nothing they like better than a tender spot they can prod smile Stress affects a lot of things and it becomes a vicious circle. Once you have a diagnosis, you can then see a path to recovery or at least how to come to terms with the condition, whatever it is.

I've had full blood tests which came out normal

I just thought it was stress related..

Hi Tezi,

Only a professional can make that judgement as to the seriousness of your condition, but what might seem trivial like stress, can become quite serious if left unchecked. On the other hand, it may be lumps and bumps like we all get from time to time, which clear up by themselves. The doctor's there for your benefit, not theirs. Though at times, it seems the other way round :lol:

I did go to the doctor he said I had a throat infection and thats why my neck was swollen up..so feel a little releived

I'm run down as well

I was concerned that I kept getting infections but he said it was normal

Hi Tezi,

Have been reading about your lumps. I have lumps, or as my GP calls them 'nodules', on my lymph nodes on the left side of my neck. I have had CS since 2001 and these lumps manifested themselves almost 3 years ago. The are painful if I press on them, but they just seemed to grow and have never gained in size since. They are probably a little smaller than a marble in size.

My GP arranged for me to have an untra sound scan, thinking it might be something sinister. However, at the scan the consultant who did it told me straight away that the lumps were not a problem and that I was just to keep an eye on them and return to my GP should they grow or cause more discomfort than they were already. To date they have stayed just the same and not really bothered me.

Like you I was very worried as to what they could be. Best to get them checked out, but I am sure theywill be OK.

No idea whether they are caused by CS, probably not. At the time the lumps appeared I was going through a very stressful time as they appeared just 2 weeks after a death in the family. Anyway they are still there and not bothering me at all now.
