Well just back from surgery after right tkr, left one done 12 mths ago, let's see how this one goes,they say everyone is different and I had such a struggle after my first one, this sight was invaluable 😃

Welcome back. Start all over again, meds ice physio elevate and...........all the other stuff we aren't told about. Thinking about you as you start the journey again x
I found the second one so much easier to cope with, the initial pain was the same, after that I just resigned myself to a few months of not doing a lot, apart from exercising and rest.
It was a lot easier to deal with, forewarned , forearmed I think.

Hi, Chris. Wishing you well on your second TKR. I am trying to wait another year before attempting my second as I am 7 weeks post from the first. I must say that the first one was certainly eye opening in preparing me for the next go round as far as the amount of pain to expect and the therapy goals. I am in no hurry at this point unless my right knee starts to give out on me too much.
Congratulations! You will be doing great now that both knees are done! My second went SO much better than my first, and having two strong legs is wonderful.😁
Remember to rest, drink lots of water and listen to your body. It will guide you. Don't forget...Your body has been through this once before and can really help you!

Awww thank you Cheryl 😃, knowing I needed the second one doing I've followed your progress closely, my first was done just under a year ago and has been a long slow recovery but getting there, I will be out of bed today, I've had drips ,drains and oxygen,the drips as I can't have diathermy during surgery as I have a kind of pacemaker in my bowl to stimulate it. So I can't wait to get mobile!!! Thank you for your encouragement 😃

Thank you carol, I remember being at 7 wks and thinking I'd never be well again!!! At least now I have a yardstick to measure it by and the experience's on this forum 😃
Go easy on that first trip out of bed today! Have fun with all the IV tubes and drains! Remember to picture yourself and your entourage as you go so that you can chuckle at the crazy spectacle required! I STILL laugh at my own experience those first couple days! 😏😊😁🙌

Chris....sorry you are back in the routine again. Remembering well the troubles you had with the 1st one.........sure makes you glad we weren't born with 3 legs doesn't it.
