Hey guys!
Today is day two of pain in my calf. Today the pain became unbearable around 2pm! I went to the hospital obviously very concerned I had a clot! Now they took blood from me, blood pressure, temperate, measured my calves, had a look for discolouration etc. However the doctor said she was happy to send me home and not test my blood as she was 99% sure I don't have a clot.
Now I also suffer from extreme anxiety! So being sent home with naproxen for muscle pain has made me quite nervous. I'm convinced I have a clot but I'm hoping the doctor is right! I don't know what to do! I'm still quite worried.
I'm also experiencing almost like a popping sensation in my upper leg! It's confusing me! I don't know what's going on but apparently I'm fine. Anyone got any tips?
Can you be more specific about the 'popping' sensation? RLS (or PLMD -Periodic Limb Movement Disorder) usually feels like a tension in the limb which only stops when you move the limb. It then goes away until the next time and can be constant of course. Does that help?
It feels like there is little tiny pops within my leg lol also like the pops you get with popping candy only longer in between of course.
Yeah it's constant! Earlier on it was completely unbearable! I feel like I can't cross my legs or do anything with my left leg incase I do damage!! My boyfriend keeps telling me if it was anything serious they wouldn't have sent me home but i don't know. Suppose that's just the anxiety playing up
Your boyfriend might be right, but it is probably worth your while having a sleep disorder medical specialist test you for RLS. Where I live (Australia) that is relatively easy and inexpensive to do and I hope it is where you live also.
It will make you feel a little less anxious if you rule in or rule out RLS or PLMD. I am not a doctor, so I can only speak as someone who has suffered it for thirty years.
So weird - I went to the doctor today with thigh pain. I'm normal, except when I climb stairs I don't want to use my left leg because of thigh pain - and it bothers me at night. Otherwise, I'm OK. Same thing - docs don't know!
I know exactly what all this is and its nothing to worry about. The muscle calf problem can be simply a lack of minerals and vitamins. Lack of iron causes restless leg syndrome. Muscle aches tremors tingling sensations. All sorts if weird feelings. Also believe it or not sleep deprivation has a massive impact on us. Lack of sleep can cause all the weird popping tingling dizzy floaty . Sensations. What you need to do is eat some good food get a good vitamin supplement and get yourself switched off in bed. Learn to enjoy your bed as your special switch off cosy retreat. Have a warm milky drink and forget the world and all its problems until the morning. Give yourself a break. And another thing the doctors know exactly what they are talking about they spent years in medical school. So if they say you are ok you are ok . So chill out and start focusing on new things. Find things you enjoy. Treat yourself maybe something you liked as a kid . A hobby or an interest . Plan a weekend camping trip . Anything that enriches your life and gives you something to look forward to . Remember it's your life given to you for you to enjoy so go ahead and let yourself enjoy it .
