Hello i hope this post finds everyone well?

I have been put on the waiting list for surgery as urgent i have a full tear , im in incredible pain and currently taking x4 tramadol but its only slightly helping me, sleep is a nightmare!!! I phoned my hospital this morning just to inquire about how long roughly I am looking at waiting for surgery, I know they cant commit to a time frame but I was asking mainly because I need to get another sicknote from my GP to cover my absence from work and was hoping I could of said im looking at around X amount of weeks for surgery but to my horror they said between 32-42 weeks and that is me being put on the list as a P2 I was that upset I had to politely end the call does anyone else have experience of waiting this long for surgery? Thank you for anyone who can help me with advice on this 🙏
